Review: Oskia Renaissance Mask

I confess that I am not much of a mask fan…maybe that meant I was out of touch with just how impressive and effective this form of skincare can be. This mask was one of 3 products in a Christmas skincare set that I managed to snap up in the winter sale. I did not have high hopes for this product…but was pleasantly surprised.

The Product

The mask retails for £60 for a 50ml tub. In the UK, Oskia is only available at a handful of retailers, one being Space NK. In my opinion, this is quite pricey for a non-essential product – but the tub will last a while if only used 1-2 times a week, as advised.

This mask is a pale peach gel-like substance which comes in a clear tub. It has the most beautiful, spa aroma (smells a bit like roses…) and feels like a real treat for the face. Moreover, for the luxurious experience, it almost is value-for-money if it negates the need to visit the facialist… If the price point is eye-wateringly high for anybody though, a tip would be to just wait for the Christmas sets that many brands release (I managed to get this full size product with deluxe samples of the day cream and cleansing gels for £30!).

The product has some effective exfoliating ingredients such as fruit enzymes and acids, and also vitamins to rejuvenate the skin. The full ingredient list is:

CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, GLYCERIN, AQUA, CETEARYL OLIVATE, SUCROSE LAURATE, BENZYL ALCOHOL, SORBITAN OLIVATE, SUCROSE PALMITATE, PARFUM (NATURAL), GERANIOL*, DIMETHYL SULFONE (MSM), CITRONELLOL**, DEHYDROACETIC ACID, LACTOBACILLUS/CUCURBITA PEPO FRUIT FERMENT EXTRACT, BORAGO OFFICINALIS SEED OIL, SUCROSE STEARATE, LINALOOL**, RETINYL PALMITATE, CI77491 (NATURAL IRON OXIDE), JOJOBA ESTERS, TOCOPHEROL, ASCORBYL PALMITATE. **COMPONENT OF NATURAL ESSENTIAL OILS

How I Use

I have developed a regular routine with this product and use it on Sunday, just to perk up my skin for the coming week.

It emulsifies soon after application into a milky-white colour. It has to be left on the skin for 10-15 minutes, and then I remove with a hot wet cloth.

Verdict

This mask really does leave skin glowy and plump; while feeling really pampering. It has the most gorgeous smell, that motivates me to regularly apply the product (as opposed to getting bored of a product…we’ve all been there…).

Although I really enjoy this product, I am not sure I would purchase this product at full price; I would try to source it with a discount of some sort. Masks are quite low in my priority list and I am not sure I can regularly stump up £60 for a product that is a nice-to-have.
